Based in the Department of Political Science at University College London (UCL), the Conflict & Change group, founded in 2015, contributes to the scientific understanding of political violence. The annual Conflict & Change Ph.D. workshop brought together more than 25 Ph.D. researchers from the UK and continental Europe. Over the two days, participants—often for the first time in person—presented their Ph.D. projects and other work, and received feedback from senior members of the Conflict & Change research cluster. Our P.h.D. candidate Noyonika Das presented her paper titled “When do Local Elections Get Violent? Evidence from West Bengal” at the workshop.
